Photos show widespread damage at US sites from Iranian attacks

According to BBC News, images obtained by their partner CBS show significant destruction at various U.S. military installations throughout Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The photographs, which have not been independently verified, depict mangled aircraft, shredded structures, and damaged buildings. Military personnel who provided the images claimed the severity of the damage at these sites has not been fully disclosed to the American public. The White House directed inquiries to U.S. Central Command, which did not provide an immediate comment.

This report follows a findings document from the Pentagon’s watchdog, which confirmed that Iranian attacks have resulted in the destruction of hundreds of structures across several Middle Eastern nations. Estimates place the cost of equipment losses at billions of dollars, including damage to refuelling aircraft and an E-3 Sentry radar plane. Brian Katulis of the Middle East Institute noted that these events suggest inadequate defensive preparations, potentially leaving the U.S. vulnerable in other regions, such as Asia, due to the necessity of diverting military assets.

Amid the ongoing conflict that began in late February, political pressure is mounting in Washington to conclude military operations. The U.S. House of Representatives recently voted to mandate an end to military action in Iran, though the measure's future in the Senate remains uncertain. Simultaneously, debates continue regarding the financial impact of the war, which has reached a total expenditure of over $33 billion, and calls have been made for the impeachment of Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.
